Acadian Client Services has an immediate opening for a full-time Billing Specialist in our PST (Pre-Scheduled Transports) department.

 

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring that all repetitive patients are scheduled and screened. Maintaining patient files as well as reviewing and posting invoices for current patients. 

 

JOB LOCATION: Lafayette, LA - This position is primarily based in the office Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Screening of potential repetitive patients
  • Review, verify and submit insurance claims
  • Scheduling business development evaluations of repetitive patients
  • Managing medical necessity and billing information for patients
  • Scheduling repetitive transports in CAD
  • Submit insurance claims for payment 
  • Acquiring pre-authorizations for Managed Care beneficiaries
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Google, MS Office Suite or related software  
  • Previous medical billing experience preferred
  • EMT/Paramedic preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with coworkers and patients 
  • Professional work ethic and dress code
  • Ability to adhere to productivity goals, departmental and company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Punctual with strong attendance history
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality
