Position Summary

Supervises employees who prepare items for shipping, loading and unloading trucks. Responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport and put away of materials to accurate locations in a safe manner. Motivates employees to work together to maintain a high level of productivity and to support both departmental and companywide goals to meet established metrics. Assists in identifying and implementing improvements in plant distribution processes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises, monitors and improves plant shipping and receiving.
  2. Provides a working environment that ensures efficient distribution of quality products to meet customers’ schedules in a safe manner.
  3. Leads daily shift meetings to include daily toolbox topic.
  4. Assists supervisor with employee vacations, call-in’s, fill-ins and employee performance feedback.
  5. Supports necessary activities outside of department.
  6. Serves as a role model in the fair and consistent administration of all policies and procedures.
  7. Maintains high level of departmental safety and overall housekeeping. Participates in audits and walk-abouts, driving actions to address any issues.
  8. Develops and encourages employee morale and participation.
  9. Performs back up duties in the absence of the Logistic Coordinator.
  10. Performs back up duties in the absence of the Supervisor.
  11. Performs weekly and monthly finished goods inventory (WIP) and report out at month-end (Required to report to work on the last day of the month)
  12. Other work related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

  • Three (3) years of shipping/receiving or distribution experience.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • MFG Pro experience-both PC and handheld
  • General SPC, math, reading and writing skills.
  • Ability or desire to lead and motivate others.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with all levels of people in achievement of departmental and plant objectives.
  • Solid communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be capable of forklift certification.
  • Familiar with the field’s concepts, practices and procedures.

 Qualifications Desired

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Expert in MFG Pro

Schedule: 10-Hour Shift, Monday – Friday

Pay: Starting at $25.00/hour

The environment is well lit; the noise level is often minimal but incumbent may be exposed to higher than 85 decibels on occasion. Incumbent may be occasionally required to enter confined spaces.
