The Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician Candidate supports the retail pharmacy team by assisting in the preparation, packaging, and organization of patient prescriptions. This entry-level role is designed for individuals who are working toward obtaining their pharmacy technician certification or license. Under the supervision of licensed pharmacy staff, the technician candidate ensures prescriptions are accurately prepared, supplies are included, and orders are ready for pick-up, delivery, or shipping. The candidate is also expected to provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and follow all pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in counting, labeling, and packaging medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Ensure supplies such as crushers, shakers, foot spas, or educational materials are included with prescription order.
  • Review printed prescription labels and organize completed orders in the proper totes for delivery or pick-up.
  • Restock vials, lids, and other supplies as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and alert appropriate staff of low stock items. 
  • Help process incoming shipments, sign invoices, and shelve products properly.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately. Offer patients the option to speak to a pharmacist for clinical questions. 
  • Communicate professionally with prescriber offices and patients regarding prescription status or additional information needed.
  • Ask clarifying questions and document important information accurately in the computer system.
  • Maintain patient privacy by only discussing confidential information in private and on a need-to-know basis. 
  • Learn and adhere to pharmacy policies, processes, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in required cleaning tasks to keep work areas and equipment organized and sanitary.
  • Assist in documenting any errors (PQC) or customer/prescriber complaints in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete all on-the-job training and actively participate in continuous learning opportunities. 
  • Work closely with pharmacists, certified technicians, and front counter staff to ensure smooth prescription processing.
  • Step in to assist with general pharmacy upkeep, shipping, inventory, or point-of-sale tasks as needed.
  • Seek out ways to support team members and improve workflow efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program and licensed with Louisiana Board of Pharmacy
  • Previous experience in pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred but not required.
  • On-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Office-based positions primarily require prolonged sitting, computer use, communication, and occasional standing or walking. Positions involving pharmacy operations, laboratory, warehouse, shipping, or retail activities may require prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, manual dexterity, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 40 pounds. All positions require the ability to work safely in a standard office, pharmacy, or warehouse environment while following applicable safety and infection control procedures.


Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm
