The Vascular Technologist II is responsible for conducting tests, and using ultrasound equipment and technologies which support physicians in diagnosing disorders related to the patients internal body parts and blood flow. The Vascular Technologist II is registered as a diagnostic medical sonographer and a vascular technologist. This position assists in training students and interns, and collaborates with Imaging leadership in the development or modification of test procedure and protocols.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Rotating Shifts: Days 7a-7:30p, Nights 7p-7:30a
- Weekends: Saturday and Sunday Days
- Monday night rotation
- No On-Call requirements
- May require additional shifts depending on staffing needs
- Equipment Maintenance Checks, tests, and maintains equipment, submitting work orders or making minor repairs when necessary, to ensure proper operation.
- Inventory Cleans, maintains, and restocks examination and inventory rooms.
- Patient Records Confirms patient identity. Obtains and records patient identification, medical history, or test results. Collaborates on patient medical history with the physician.
- Patient Counsel Explains testing procedures for patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
- Quality & Performance Maintains logs and quality assurance documentation.
- Safety Protocol Practices established safety guidelines, utilizes universal precautions and infection control.
- Patient Preparation Prepares and positions patients for testing.
- Operate Equipment Position the patient and equipment correctly to produce results with the best quality. Operates equipment that uses high-frequency sound waves to record images of internal organs and blood flow. Use imaging equipment that non-invasively emits sound waves directed towards internal organs, blood vessels, tissues and other structures. Maintain ultrasound equipment and the room in which the procedure takes place.
- Direct Patient Care Observe and care for patients throughout examinations to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Perform Ultrasound Examinations Operates ultrasound equipment to ensure that images produced are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes, making adjustments to equipment as required. Use equipment to record images of motion, shape, and composition or target area. Ensure images generated during the procedure are of high quality.
- Analyze Tests Results Review test images to check for quality and sufficient coverage. Compare patients most recent scans to previous results and assess diagnostic information. Provide summary findings for physicians and other medical professionals involved.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required Certificate Ultrasound or Associate's Degree Radiology or Ultrasound
- Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Required Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - . ARRT (VS) or Registered Vascular Specialist - . RVS CCI
- Preferred 1 year Ultrasound experience
