Job Summary

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations while actively performing field work to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with company policies. Acting as the primary on-site support, they address customer service needs, resolve operational issues, and facilitate communication between employees and leadership. This role involves providing training, conducting inspections, and fostering a positive work environment to maintain high employee morale and operational readiness. The Site Supervisor also assists in incident investigations, employee evaluations, and enforcing safety protocols while escalating concerns as needed. Through hands-on leadership and guidance, they contribute to a productive and compliant workplace.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of logistics or related industry experience.
  • Possession of a valid and current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and valid Driver’s License.
  • Experience with railcar and truck loading/unloading and dock operations.
  • Strong understanding of Loadstar Safety Management System and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer communications, addressing service needs, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement. 
  • Ensure that all employees understand and adhere to mandated procedures, policies, and guidelines to maintain regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. 
  • Foster a positive work environment and maintain high employee morale by providing leadership, support, and encouragement to the team. 
  • Ensure that employees receive proper training and are adequately prepared for their shifts, contributing to overall operational readiness. 
  • Assist with daily operation execution, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for on-site employees, addressing work-related concerns and escalating issues as needed.
  • Support employees in following mandated procedures, policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new employees to ensure operational readiness.
  • Foster teamwork and a positive work environment by motivating and supporting employees.
  • Conduct routine equipment and site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in investigating minor operational incidents and reporting findings to the Site Supervisor.
  • Communicate operational updates and concerns to the Site Supervisor for resolution.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and adherence to company standards in all aspects of your work. 
  • Continuously support and assist field employees to ensure their success and address any challenges they encounter. 
  • Oversee the training of newly hired or licensed field workers, ensuring they are confident and prepared for their roles. 
  • Conduct regular employee evaluations, provide feedback, and encourage development and succession planning to foster career growth in part with Site Leadership.
  • Handle employee discipline and conduct coaching meetings when necessary to address performance issues and promote improvement. 
  • Promptly respond to operational incidents, oversee corrective actions, facilitate lessons learned discussions, and ensure thorough investigations are conducted. 
  • Conduct routine audits on field employees at job sites and organize safety meetings to educate employees and discuss observation findings. 

 

Physical Requirements  

  • Ability to speak, write, read fluent English and have good vision. 
  • Frequently use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls  
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms   
  • Frequently lift, carry, grip, hold, and/or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
