Morimoto Asia is a vibrant pan-Asian dining destination led by the renowned Iron Chef, Masaharu Morimoto. Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality sushi dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation.
- Handle, slice, and present fish and other ingredients with precision and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient and organized work-flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of sushi ingredients.
- Uphold food safety regulations and practices.
- May be required to perform other duties as needed to support the overall goals and objectives of the team and organization.Â
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years' experience as a sushi cook or similar role is required.
- In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniquesÂ
- Strong knife skills and precision in handling raw fish and other ingredients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.Â
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are needed for precise cutting and assembly of sushi.Â
- Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 pounds.Â
- Work in a potentially hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.Â
- Pushing and pulling occasionally to move equipment.Â
- In the kitchen environment, noise levels may be moderate to high.
