Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

The Lead Material Controller is a key member of the CP2 Material Management team. The position will be responsible for managing control and flow of material from the offsite storage locations to the site using SiteSense. This is a contract position located in Lake Charles, LA. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the project supply chain flows into the site.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for material control issues on site.
  • Lead and mentor material control personnel, promoting best practices and continuous
  • improvement.
  • Forecast and schedule material deliveries based on project timelines with field logistics team and end users.
  • Proactively Track field procured receiving to expedite MRR’s/OSD’s to support on time invoicing
  • Maintain detailed records of material transactions, usage, and approval history.
  • Review and approve material requests from contractors to ensure accuracy, material availability,
  •  Identify and resolve discrepancies between requested, issued, and received materials.
  • Assess material availability based on stock levels, lead times, and delivery schedules to support uninterrupted construction.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials in SiteSense, material management software.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse teams, and contractors to ensure timely sourcing, delivery, and issuance of materials.
  • Collaborate with contractors, and Commissioning Teams to understand material specifications and urgency.
  •  Support audits and reporting by providing traceable documentation of material requests and approvals.
  • Build good working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist with disposition of unused items at the end of construction phase such as handover to operating unit, preparation for sale/auction, and scrapping.
  • Monitor amount of onsite material/IWP in storage and staging areas to prevent overloading.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years industrial construction experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role – Power generation and LNG plant construction are preferred.
  • Solid understanding of inventory control processes and supply chain operations
  • Experience working at a construction site in a supply chain related role.
  • Excellent supervisory and communication skills with an established history of leading a team at a construction site.
  • Experienced user of material management tracking software/RFID technology
  • Firm understanding of advance work packaging and material allocations.
