Summary

The Loan Operations Trainer supports the bank’s strategic goals by assisting in the development, delivery, and maintenance of loan operations training programs, job aids, and reference materials. This role delivers training and day-to-day support to loan production and operations staff, with an emphasis on commercial lending processes and systems. The position also helps maintain documented policies and procedures and supports compliance with applicable federal and state banking regulations.


Specific Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain loan operations training materials, job aids, and reference guides.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding activities related to lending operations, including system navigation, procedures, and operational workflows.
  • Deliver assigned training sessions (classroom, virtual, or one-on-one) as directed by the Assistant Director of Loan Operations.
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to frontline and operational staff regarding lending systems, auxiliary systems, and standard procedures.
  • Facilitate follow-up activities with trainees to reinforce learning and support knowledge transfer.
  • Respond to routine training-related questions and provide internal customer support to bank employees.
  • Collaborate closely and frequently with Lending Administration, Retail, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and other departments as needed to identify training topics and conduct regularly scheduled training for production and operations staff.
  • Assist with tracking training completion, attendance, and required documentation.
  • Stay informed of regulatory requirements and ensure Loan Operations-related items are addressed and properly documented in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Bank’s loan products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in a business- or finance-related field is preferred.
  • Four (4) – Seven (7) years of loan operations or lending experience is required. 
  • Extensive knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and internal processing systems.
  • Extensive understanding of loan application policies and procedures, documentation required by federal and state regulations, as well as internal control processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of the commercial lending process, including but not limited to reading and understanding corporate entity documents, collateral perfection.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess strong analytical and documentation review skills.
  • Must possess strong operational knowledge of commercial lending and the documents associated with commercial lending, state and federal regulations which govern commercial lending, and operational tasks associated with entering data into the bank’s commercial lending systems.
  • Ability to present information clearly to individuals and small groups.
  • Must possess strong system knowledge, including but not limited to LaserPro, nCino, FIS IBS, Identifi.
  • Must be proficient at Word, Excel, SharePoint, and other Office 365 programs to allow for team and cross department collaboration.
  • Must be proficient at multi-tasking and working with several software programs simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, if required.
