Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY 

The O&M Foreman is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by planning, organizing, and executing the day-to-day onsite operations and maintenance (O&M) of the project.  

LOCATION 

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.  

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for onsite O&M activities.
  2. Supports and aids with O&M subcontractors onsite.
  3. Oversee the daily operations and maintenance activities, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and regulations.
  4. Maintain daily operational logs to meet O&M activities to ensure compliance with the contractual agreement.
  5. Assistance with the preparation of the O&M reports for Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD) and the Developer.
  6. Track and analyze equipment and facility performance data to identify issues, enhance efficiency, and improve reliability.

  8. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  9. Quickly respond to breakdowns or emergencies, mobilize resources, and implement corrective measures to restore operations safely.
  10. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with the company quality plan and industry best practices.
  11. Assists in maintaining compliance in terms of O&M works.
  12. Participates in safety and environmental programs and ensures compliance with environmental regulations.
  13. Lead a high-performing team through coaching and top-tier talent retention.
  14. Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
  15. Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations. 
  16. Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and consumables, ensuring critical spares are available to avoid operational interruptions.
  17. Prepare and submit a daily activity report.
  18. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  1. Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
  2. Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
  3. Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
  4. Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.

  6. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, overtime, additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best serve the business operations.
  7. Ability to be on-call during designated periods outside of regular working hours, meaning must be available to respond to work-related issues and potentially be at the Project Office and/or Project Job-Site on short notice (i.e. within one (1) hour).
  8. Ability to maintain a valid and current driver’s license. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

At a minimum, the O&M Foreman must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 10+ years of relevant civil experience within concrete, structures, roads, and/or marine and 3+ years of experience as a Foreman or other leadership role in field operations, while being responsible for leading and managing a multi-discipline work force on a large-scale project.  The O&M Foreman must also possess a valid and current driver’s license.
