Purpose of Job

Previous management training or experience, particularly in supervision or interpersonal skills management. 

Key Accountabilities

• Monitors safety and Process Safety programs to reduce risks of incidents to all personnel • Responsible for compliance with all environmental regulations applicable to the unit, and ensures reasonable inquiry, and certifies reports to federal and state agencies • Responsible for the development and execution of the unit variable cost budget, and departmental fixed cost budget. Creates monthly budget reforecast and variance analysis reports to ensure favorable variance wherever possible • Develops objectives and targets for the unit and implements plans to accomplish them. • Directs and coordinates the efforts of the operations leadership .Responsible for running the plant to meet production requirements while maintaining plant stream factor, without compromising employee safety, environmental, or quality requirements • Monitors daily plant operating data and process stream analyses to ensure product quality and efficient operation of the plant, and to determine where maintenance is required, or improvements may be needed • Reviews engineering designs and operating recommendations to ensure that improvements are practical, safe, necessary and beneficial to the plant operation • Interacts with the department heads of all the support departments including Safety, Environmental, Engineering, QC Laboratory, Finance, Purchasing and Maintenance • Provides direction to engineering and technology groups to improve unit performance and install needed upgrades in a cost effective and timely manner • Works with Business Areas to establish Production Plans and forecasts • Works with Human Resources Department to respond to grievances from union personnel and to develop and administer consistent work practice policies • Works with customers to solve problems associated with product quality and services • Oversees established program management systems in the Operations Department • Ensures programs, procedures and activities within area of responsibly comply with corporate governance and legal compliance requirements  

Formal Education

  • University Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business or related fields

Working Experience

  • 5+ years industrial experience in Chemical Process  

Required Personal/ Professional Skills

  • Must have capability to handle a large work volume and develop a wide breadth of knowledge to operate effectively in all areas of responsibility 
  • Knowledge of management systems, SHE Processes and Procedures, and PSM  Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Management style must include values driven leadership, cultural sensitive, business acumen, team focused, networking and relation building ability, and balanced conceptual and practical 
  • Some travel may be required
