Job DetailsJob Location: Stewart Memorial Community Hospital - Lake City - Lake City, IA 51449FULL‑TIME DAY CNA/UNIT SECRETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. You will assist patients with daily living activities, monitor patient conditions, and help ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for patients and their families. Other responsibilities include: Answer patient call lights, bells, and intercom systems to determine patient needs. Reposition and assist bedridden patients. Assist patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, walking, exercising, and other daily living activities. Review dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure appropriate meal delivery. Measure and document food and fluid intake as well as urinary and fecal output. Obtain and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations. Gather information from caregivers, nurses, and providers regarding patient care plans and conditions. Observe patients for signs and symptoms requiring medical attention and report findings to nursing staff. Document patient observations, behaviors, complaints, and symptoms in accordance with department guidelines. Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements as directed. Assist patients with meals and hydration. Provide bedpan assistance and personal hygiene care. Assist with patient transfers and transportation. Provide emotional support and communicate with patients regarding their needs and concerns. Participate in educational programs, workshops, and department meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: No experience required. Completion of a 72-hour CNA course required. Ability to provide compassionate care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
