About the role

Trustmark is seeking a Director, Product Management & Execution to lead the coordination and delivery of innovative product solutions across our Voluntary Benefits business.
Drives the development, implementation, and ongoing management of product offerings by coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring operational readiness. It supports product compliance, governance, process improvement, and regulatory requirements while assisting with new product launches and enhancements. Serves as a key liaison among business partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and implement solutions. It also leverages data, market insights, and competitive analysis to support product strategy and decision-making while bringing new products and capabilities into market and supporting successful adoption and ongoing performance.

Key Accountabilities:

Product Management & Execution

  • Leads cross-functional initiatives to plan, coordinate, and implement product launches or updates/changes across the organization. Partners with Product leadership, Compliance, Operations, IT, Legal, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to define requirements, assess impacts, resolve issues, and ensure successful implementation. Supports the launch of new product lines by driving operational readiness and cross-functional execution.
  • Establishes and maintains the tools, documentation, governance, and processes that support state-specific product requirements, regulatory compliance, product configurations, and new product implementations. Continuously improves processes to increase consistency, efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Leads the evaluation and resolution of complex product compliance issues, regulatory changes, operational exceptions, and product enhancements.
  • Analyzes business impacts, identifies risks, and develops recommendations that balance compliance, operational efficiency, and customer experience while building consensus across stakeholder groups.
  • Oversees competitive and industry research for assigned product lines. Develops competitive analyses, product comparisons, and market insights in partnership with underwriting & sales that support product strategy, business planning, and product enhancements.
  • Partners with internal teams and external partners (e.g., third-party administrators, point solution vendors, etc.) to support the development and implementation of new partnerships and products.
  • Helps coordinate business requirements, operational readiness, and ongoing product support to ensure successful partner integration.
  • Develops and monitors key performance measures related to product implementation, operational effectiveness, and compliance. Uses data and business insights to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support informed decision-making.
  • Primary Trainer for product managers and product administrators, responsible for onboarding and supporting ongoing knowledge base

Product Development

  • Participates in product development initiatives, assisting in design and implementation of new products & updates.
  • Ensures seamless transition from product development to product management, performs on-going product training.
  • Owns the internal work needed to stand up any new offerings or capabilities.
  • Supports product leadership to plan and bring new ideas to life.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4 - 6 years of progressive experience in product management or similar role, preferably within the insurance industry OR High School Diploma/GED and 10+ years of progressive experience.
  • Ability to lead projects with minimal oversight.
  • Driven to lead and support large scale implementations, including new product, portfolio, or service launches.
  • Collaborative and strategic; seeks to understand the lifecycle of the business and works in alignment.
  • Results-oriented with excellent organizational skills, adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously, committed to following through and completing assignments in a timely and professional manner.

Preferred:

  • 3-5 years in supplemental health, life, disability & leave, dental and vision, or related product lines in a support or individual contributor role.
  • Membership or participation in industry associations (e.g., LIMRA, NASBI, DMEC, ACLI).
  • Experience in business or technology transformation.
  • Compliance/regulatory experience.

The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):

$92,359.68 - $133,409.90 per year

The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus.
