Job Description
**This is a Full Time position at 40 hours per week located on the Lake Forest hospital campus for the outpatient Psychiatry clinic. Schedule is Monday through Friday.**
The Technician, Neuropsychology reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Technician, Neuropsychology, under the supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist, administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests for patients in an accurate, valid, and standardized manner to aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow up of patients with various neurological health conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains pre-approval for insurance coverage (provides information, conducts follow-up) by communicating with patient’s insurer. Communicates any obstacles so patient may be notified.
- Prepares testing instruments/supplies.
- Administers tests and performs other related procedures as directed by neuropsychologist.
- Conducts detailed behavioral observations and reports to neuropsychologist, obtains  direction for subsequent procedures.
- Scores neuropsychological tests, identifies appropriate normative values, translates scores, makes recommendations and coordinates treatment, prepares reports of behavioral observations and score levels for assistance in diagnosis.
- Coordinates with team to ensure that test supplies are adequate and up to date.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- BA degree in Clinical Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of one year experience in a relevant role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principal assessment/treatment of patients with neuropsychological disorders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principal testing instruments, scoring/administration, translation of scores.
Preferred:
- Â Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP)
