We are looking for a full-time, experienced and self-motivated Supply Chain Planning Analyst to join our Global Supply Chain Team to manage the company’s Direct Import program for direct import customers from purchase order receipt through final delivery. This is a customer-facing role requiring frequent interaction with retail partners, sales teams, suppliers, and freight forwarders, and demands a detail-oriented, thoughtful mindset that places the customer first.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supply chain analytics support through inventory reporting, safety stock adjustment, and supply chain performance metrics Manages the end-to-end Direct Import programs. From purchase order receipt through delivery to the customer’s distribution center or port of entry.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer replenishment and Asia order management teams, responding to order status inquiries, ship window changes, and exception requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Review, validate, and place direct import orders, ensuring accuracy of item, quantity, pricing, and ship window against customer requirements.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers and factories on production schedules, booking timelines, and cargo readiness dates.
- Manage container bookings, consolidation planning, and load optimization with freight forwarders to maximize container utilization and minimize freight cost per unit.
- Create, review, and process international shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, for accuracy and customs compliance.
- Monitor on-water inventory and estimated arrival dates; proactively communicates delays and presents recovery options to customers and sales.
- Maintain customer-specific routing guides, labeling, packaging, and EDI compliance requirements to drive toward zero chargebacks.
- Partner with customs brokers on entry filing, HTS classification, duty, and trade compliance matters when required.
- Track and report Direct Import program metrics, including on-time ship, on-time delivery, fill rate, and cost variance.
- Support customer line reviews and new-item setup with lead time, minimum order quantity, and cost inputs.
- Manage invoice and First cost process with customers.
- Prepare, run, and distribute recurring inventory reports, including on-hand, on-order, aged and obsolete inventory, weeks of supply, and inventory turns.
- Analyze demand variability, lead time performance, and service level targets to recommend and implement safety stock adjustments.
- Prepare and attend weekly meetings to support supply chain metric reporting.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis for leadership on cost reduction, network optimization, and process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain system data integrity in the item master for assigned items, including lead times and planning parameters, and ensure new item setup is complete.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics from a four-year college or university and no less than 3 years of progressive experience in the supply chain, import, or logistics discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience in the durable consumer goods industry.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation, with the ability to build trust through proactive, accurate, and responsive communication.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with analytical mindset.
- Experience with ERP/MRP/Demand Planning Systems and procurement practices.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, analytical skills and management follow-through skills required.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build consensus without direct authority.
- Ability to think “outside the box” and come up with creative process improvements.
- Direct import or replenishment experience with major retail accounts such as Ace Hardware, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Costco, and familiarity with their vendor portals, preferred.
- Familiarity with EDI transactions (850, 855, 856, 810) preferred.
- Working knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, customs documentation, and ocean freight processes is a plus.
- APICS CPIM/CSCP or Licensed Customs Broker certification preferred.
