Sustaining Electrical Engineer
The Sustaining Engineer will be responsible for supporting existing product lines by managing component lifecycle issues, driving engineering changes, and ensuring continued manufacturability and compliance. This role focuses on analyzing the impact of component obsolescence, identifying and qualifying alternate parts, and implementing changes through formal engineering documentation processes.

Responsibilities include:
- Monitor and assess component obsolescence risks across product lines.
- Research and evaluate alternate components for form, fit, and function compatibility.
- Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure availability and compliance.
- Update BOMs, schematics, and documentation to reflect approved changes.
- Ensure changes meet quality, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate changes.
- Support production and field teams with technical guidance on sustaining issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve product reliability and reduce cost through component optimization.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or related Engineer field.
- 3+ years in sustaining engineering, component engineering, or related role.
- Experience with semiconductor test equipment or high-reliability electronics preferred.
- Strong understanding of electronic components and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and BOMs.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and change control processes.
- Experience in the manufacturing release process.
- Knowledge of SEMI, UL, and other related regulatory standards a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- This is an onsite role in our Lake Forest, CA office.
