IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Possession of a valid NYS driver’s license

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct intake interviews and participate as a member of the admissions team.
  • Write social histories/psychosocial reports as needed for students requiring behavior plans.
  • Establish meetings with parents to evaluate the progress of the student. Provide support and evaluate other needs of the family.
  • Provide counseling using both individual and group methods for students.
  • Provide parent trainings in accordance with the IEP.
  • Provide assistance, including care coordination referrals as needed. Make referrals for additional specialized services from outside agencies as needed.
  • Conduct annual reviews and update social/developmental histories.
  • Conduct assessments on achievement of goals delineated in the IEP and the IEP goals as necessary in preparation for the CSE/CPSE meeting.
  • Provide parent training sessions and workshops.
  • Act as liaison to child protective services as needed.
  • Meet with staff as needed to discuss clinical issues related to the student participating in school services.
  • Attend weekly classroom team meetings as a member of the clinical team.
  • Maintain statistical records of student caseload.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field. Professionally represent the agency at all times.
