Description

The Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor has overall responsibility for the Housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and timely turnarounds of properties managed by Rumbling Bald Vacation Rentals. In addition, this individual is responsible for the overall management and coordination of laundry required to meet the needs of the organization. The position also manages the day-to-day efforts of the Amenities staff.


This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Vacation Rentals. Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, and 401k with company match.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Retrieves daily/weekly reports from Guest Services regarding vacation rental activity to coordinate scheduling of property cleanings.
  • Coordinates and schedules housekeeping staff in the most productive and efficient manner possible to ensure units are properly cleaned and ready for guest arrivals.
  • Trains housekeeping staff to follow safety and security procedures and regulations.
  • Supervise or complete inspections of properties following servicing by the housekeeping staff, prior to providing VI status.
  • Ensures that the Housekeeping Inspector(s) communicates with Guest Services on a timely basis regarding room status.
  • Responds to guest requests, issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Reports missing articles, damage or mechanical problems to Guest Services (or Property Maintenance Supervisor) in a timely manner.
  • Develops, implements and monitors inventory of all cleaning supplies, linens, and paper products for units. 
  • Works closely with both internal and external laundry services to ensure proper quality and inventories of linens to meet the demands of Rumbling Bald managed properties.
  • Prepare monthly inventories of linen.
  • Performs cost control activities to assure effective and efficient use of inventory products.
  • Tracks cleanliness levels and shares feedback from guest surveys to the Housekeeping team 
  • Schedules and oversees the Amenities staff in their day-to-day duties and ensure they have the necessary supplies and resources to conduct their tasks.


Requirements

Associate degree or higher, preferred.

  • Three years prior experience managing a housekeeping staff, preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation. 
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required; Streamline or Northstar experience is preferred.
  • Flexible schedule with evenings and weekend work, if required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear. 
  • The associate is frequently required to stand; bend; walk; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift 25 lbs. 
  • Must be able to withstand working in a variety of weather conditions including sunlight and a hot/humid summer climate.
  • Drive vehicle for performance of job duties.
