What you can expect as a Customer Service Billing Specialist : 

  • Manage a high volume of inbound phone calls from insureds and agents, providing prompt, accurate, and courteous assistance in a call-center-like environment while maintaining service level expectations.
  • Assist with departmental projects aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Collaborate with underwriting and accounting teams to resolve billing issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards in all billing related tasks.
  • Process endorsements, including agency billing requests, payment plan updates, insured-requested cancellations, and others assigned by the direct manager. 
  • Provide timely and professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from agency partners and periodically mortgage companies regarding coverage verification and billing information. 
  • Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and ensure compliance with company policies. 
  • Manage and respond to billing-related emails promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor and report on billing activities to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies and escalate complex issues as needed. 
  • Support electronic payment processing and assist customers with payment-related inquiries.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


What we are looking for as a Customer Service Billing Specialist Specialist:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); additionally, any undergraduate education desirable, minimum 2 years’ experience and/or training in P&C Insurance desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

An active 440, 2044 or 220 license is required. An insurance related designation or license for Property and Casualty Insurance is preferred.
