Recreation/Activities Coordinator
Waters Edge Assisted Living Facility of Lake Wales is seeking a passionate and dynamic Recreation/Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, and implement a diverse range of recreational and social activities tailored to the interests and abilities of senior residents
- Motivate and encourage residents to participate actively in programs to enhance their physical, mental, and emotional well-being
- Manage the activities department, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating staff and volunteers
- Assess residents' needs and preferences to create personalized activity plans
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes socialization and community engagement
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as needed to maximize participation and satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in activities coordination, preferably within senior living or healthcare settings
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and connect with seniors
- Creativity and enthusiasm in designing engaging activities
- Knowledge of aging-related needs and safety considerations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in recreational therapy or related fields are a plus
