Precision Inspection - Cleanroom Environment - Medical Device Manufacturing

As a Quality Inspector II, you will perform component, in-process, and final inspections within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in confirming that materials and finished products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to identify defects, support investigations, and maintain compliance with established procedures.


This position is ideal for experienced inspectors who enjoy hands-on quality work, working under microscopes, and supporting high-quality manufacturing outcomes.


What You’ll Do

 

Perform Precision Inspection Activities

  • Inspect incoming materials to confirm compliance with purchase order specifications.
  • Audit in-process components, sub-assemblies, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Perform First Article Inspections and prepare associated reports.
  • Conduct lot release testing with support from engineering or senior quality personnel.
  • Maintain identification and traceability of materials during inspection activities.

Support Quality Documentation & Compliance

  • Follow Quality System requirements and all applicable SOPs in the Training Matrix.
  • Accurately complete Lot History Records (LHRs) and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with Quality Manual and work instructions.
  • Perform line clearance audits to support compliant production operations.
  • Prepare inspection stations, ensuring organization and cleanliness.

Identify and Escalate Quality Issues

  • Identify defects and nonconformances and communicate findings to supervisors, engineers, and production leadership.
  • Maintain reject logs and document inspection results accurately.
  • Inform supervisors of equipment issues or needed tool repairs.
  • Demonstrate defect awareness and understanding of impact to product quality.

Support Team & Production Quality Goals

  • Maintain strong working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Support production quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work overtime as needed to support production demands.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


What You Bring

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required


Experience

  • 5+ years of inspection experience required
  • Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience preferred
  • Computer proficiency required for data entry and business system tracking


Technical Skills & Qualifications

Inspection & Measurement Skills

  • Experience using metrology tools such as:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Vision measurement systems
    • Inspection microscopes
    • Other measurement instrumentation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

Quality & Documentation Skills

  • Experience completing inspection documentation and reports
  • Ability to write procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good judgment and attention to detail

Technical & Computer Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Experience working with Adobe/PDF documentation
  • Ability to work within quality tracking systems


Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work full shift under a microscope
  • Ability to work in cleanroom environment including:
    • Temperatures between 68°F–80°F
    • Low humidity environment
    • Cleanroom gowning requirements for full shift
    • Gloves, hair coverings, and protective attire
