This role requires the ability to navigate complex situations, balance institutional priorities, and exercise sound judgment while representing both the university and its aviation partner with professionalism and integrity. The coordinator collaborates closely with Kingsky leadership, Student Financial Services, the Business Office, Academic Advising, and other university stakeholders to ensure seamless program operations and effective problem resolution.     ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS    Reports to: Chair, Aviation   Supervisory Responsibility: N/A Indirect Supervisory Responsibility: N/A     ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following:    As a key liaison between SEU and Kingsky, the Aviation Program Coordinator manages day-to-day communication related to student progress, academic coordination, and program operations.This role requires the ability to navigate complex situations, balance institutional priorities, and exercise sound judgment while representing both the university and its aviation partner with professionalism and integrity. The coordinator collaborates closely with Kingsky leadership, Student Financial Services, the Business Office, Academic Advising, and other university stakeholders to ensure seamless program operations and effective problem resolution. The coordinator holds responsibility for overseeing student flight and ground training funds, monitoring account balances, and proactively identifying potential financial barriers to student progression. This includes coordinating fund allocations and adjustments, maintaining accurate financial records, and communicating clearly and timely with students regarding required actions. The role demands attention to detail, discretion with sensitive financial information, and the ability to make informed decisions that support both student success and program compliance. In support of student success, the Aviation Program Coordinator provides academic coaching, guidance, and advocacy for aviation students enrolled in SEU degree programs. The coordinator assists students in navigating academic policies, training requirements, and progression timelines, while addressing concerns related to flight training delays or program challenges. Acting as a trusted advocate, the coordinator works across institutional and partner systems to resolve issues and promote continuity in both academic and flight training pathways. The Aviation Program Coordinator also plays an integral role in program operations and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include supporting scheduling, data tracking, reporting, student onboarding, and orientation processes, as well as maintaining consistent communication with students and faculty. The coordinator contributes to program planning       ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES      All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position.  Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.    LOCATION    Main Campus Hybrid (some remote, some main campus, and/or some other physical location)    Qualifications  EDUCATION      Required Education:   Bachelor's in Education, Business or other related degree   Preferred Education:   Bachelor's degree in Aviation is strongly preferred   LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS   N/A   EXPERIENCE    Required:   Experience in academic advising, student success, or program coordination is strongly preferred, along with familiarity with aviation training environments or flight school operations.     Preferred:    N/A      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES   Required:   The role requires a collaborative professional who can build strong relationships with both internal and external partners while managing multiple priorities with consistency and care.   Demonstrates exceptional organizational and communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a proven capacity for discretion, sound judgment, and informed decision-making.   Demonstrates a student-centered and solutions-oriented mindset, strong professional judgment, and the ability to navigate complex organizational environments.    Key competencies include effective cross-departmental communication, meticulous record keeping, prioritization and time management, and a commitment to excellence in both student support and program operations.      Preferred:   N/A   WORK ENVIRONMENT    All employees are responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, harassment, including sexual harassment.    This position is considered non-essential for the purposes of Emergency Response.   Physical Requirements:      Requires the ability to perform standard office and administrative functions in an on-site work environment.    Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer, as well as stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday.    Requires frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, operating office equipment, and handling documents.    Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic means.    Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of materials weighing up to approximately 20 pounds may be required.    May also involve occasional movement between offices, classrooms, and aviation training facilities.   Travel:   None. Locally between offices/campuses   Schedule:   M-F 8-5    TRAINING   All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated.
