ASE preferred but not required. Minimum 3+ years of experience as an automotive technician (automotive mechanic) Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service. Must be able to work all scheduled hours, including some Saturdays. Able to diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification. Ability to access all areas of vehicles to correctly diagnose problems and perform all repairs. Knowledge of engine management including, but not limited to, emission, fuel, and ignition systems. Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.) Ability to accurately identify mechanical problems using both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment. Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs. Able to explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors. Correctly disassemble and reassemble parts. Knowledge of integrated electronic systems, such as sensors. Capable of utilizing power tools including, but not limited to, pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding torches, and jacks and hoists. Also, able to use common hand tools such as sockets and ratchets, wrenches and pliers. Acceptable verbal and written communication skills. Must have a valid driver's license. DFWP/EOE
