JOB SUMMARY:
The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining the daily operation of Pilot Plant by ensuring that breakdown
repairs and preventative maintenance on facility systems are carried out in a safe, timely, and effective manner.Â
This position is responsible for the electrical and mechanical installation of new equipment as well as repair, inspection,
and calibration of existing equipment. This person is also responsible for accurate record keeping and input of data into
the plant maintenance management system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow safe work practices and support safety goals and objectives
- Makes all necessary mechanical repairs on equipment including replacement, repair and installation of motors, pumps, sleeves, bearings, gears, shafts, pins, etc.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment up to 480V
- Piping installation and ability to determine correct materials for each service.
- Create, modify, read, and understand piping specification, engineering and electrical drawings.
- Safe operation of industrial equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and lifts.
- Instrument repair, calibration and installation including flow meters, pressure transmitters.
- Troubleshooting, and basic programming of distributed control system and PLCs.
- Participate on the Emergency Response Team
- Assists with managing outside service contractors
- Maintains and improves preventative/predictive maintenance programs. Experience with maintenance management systems.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Level of Education: High School Diploma/GED
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years of Industrial electrical/mechanical or equivalent experience
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Certified Electrician or Craftsman preferred but not required
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school or equivalent degree
- 3-5 years experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a chemical / production facility or equivalent educational experience
- Self-starter and capable of working in a high paced environment
- Must be able to work closely with maintenance and production team
- Able to handle up to fifty (50) pounds and physical dexterity to assemble and operate equipment
- Working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, E-Mail, maintenance management systems)
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Journeyman
- Electrical and Mechanical experience
- Experience in distributed control systems, PLCS, and instrumentation
- Experience working in a high-performance work culture
- Familiar with Process Safety Management concepts and requirements
- Certified Welder
- SAP maintenance management system experience
WORKING REQUIREMENTS
The plant currently works two 8 hour Maintenance shifts, Days and afternoons, five days a week. This could change but not currently planned. Overtime may be required but is currently not common.
