Summer Media & Program Staff – Job Description
Position Overview
The Summer Media & Program Staff member serves in a dual-role that is 50% media and 50% program support. Each day is split between capturing and producing high-quality media content and actively helping run the daily program of Round Lake Christian Camp. This position requires creativity, flexibility, and a heart for ministry, helping our campers encounter Jesus while also sharing the story of what God is doing at camp.
This role reports to the Program Manager and works closely with the Program Directors, Leadership Staff, and Management Team.
Key Responsibilities
Media Responsibilities (50%)
- Capture daily photos and video of camp life, activities, chapel, and special events
- Edit and prepare content for daily slideshows, social media, and recap videos
- Maintain organized media files, backups, and archives
- Create short-form promotional content throughout the summer
- Capture camper testimonies with sensitivity and discretion
Program Responsibilities (50%)
- Assist with daily activities, recreation, and theme elements
- Set up and tear down program areas, games, and events
- Assist with check-in, check out and cleaning
- Be a flexible team member willing to jump into any program need
- Maintain a positive, encouraging presence with campers and volunteers
Qualifications
Required
- Follower of Jesus with a desire to serve in a ministry environment
- Experience in photography and/or videography
- Familiarity with editing platformsÂ
- Comfortable working long, active outdoor days
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage daily deadlines
- Team-oriented and willing to switch roles midday
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Graphic design experience (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Social media content creation experience
- Prior camp experience
Schedule & Commitment
- Full-time summer role
- Late May through early August
- Must attend staff training week
- Workdays typically include both morning and afternoon roles (media/program split)
- Includes some eveningsÂ
Working Conditions
- Outdoor camp environment, variable weather
