We are currently recruiting for a Assistant Property Manager to join our team who values our agency's focus and organizational excellence.

The Candidate for Assistant Property Manager:

Core Responsibilities

  1. Assists the Property Manager, as needed, on all facets of management at multiple properties. Oversees management during Property Manager absences.
  2. Assist with the preparation of marketing plans to maintain optimal levels of occupancy.
  3. Assists with leasing process from initial application to move-in, including orientation of residents to the property. Keeps waitlist current.
  4. Maintains compliance documentation in accordance with program regulations. Obtains compliance approval for all new move-ins and recertifications.
  5. Assists in managing financial activities including rent collection, monitoring delinquent accounts. Codes invoices and submits to central office for entry in A/P system.
  6. Responds to and works to resolve tenant concerns and complaints effectively in accordance with MWHS high standards of customer service.
  7. Process work orders and monitors unit turnarounds.
  8. Conducts physical inspections of property to ensure completeness and quality of work performed.
  9. Maintains property maintenance logs and inventory of supplies and equipment and rents community spaces.
  10. Under the direction of the Property Manager, prepares necessary reports as required to assist in the efficient management of the development.
  11. Prepares and delivers notices to residents as needed.
  12. Under the guidance of the Property Manager, follows and enforces all fair housing and local landlord and tenant laws and regulations.
  13. Attends training for continued professional growth.
  14. Encourages community development and makes referrals to and collaborates with Resident Services Coordinators.
  15. At the direction of the Property Manager, works with residents and MWHS staff to host local events in the community space.
  16. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent education is required. College or training in property/real estate management or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Bilingual language skills in Spanish is a plus.
  • 1 year experience in Property Management or Leasing required
  • Experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit a plus
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are preferred.
