What Youâll Do:
- Ensure maximized usage, adoption, and investment of Microsoft solutions
- Ensure consistency of governance, policy, and standards of Microsoft solutions
- Ensure security with least privileged and role based access to solutions
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the migration from traditional methods and systems into the Microsoft ecosystem
- Establish and document solutions and user standards, repeatable processes, and training
- Continuous improvement of governance, risks, and security best practices
What Weâre Looking For:

Starting salary is based on experience and qualifications and will likely not exceed mid-point of range to allow for development and future increases.Â
Position Summary
FLSA: Salary ExemptÂ
The Microsoft Solutions & Governance Manager creates and maintains a Microsoft âCenter of Excellenceâ leading and supporting enterprise-level initiatives involving Microsoft 365 suite of applications, services, solutions, and governance. This role is instrumental in leveraging the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, modernizing collaboration, enhancing productivity, managing compliance and security, and related merger and acquisition activities. The role continuously researches new Microsoft services and solutions that could drive business strategy, enhance business capabilities, create new business models and drive business innovation. The role works with all stakeholders to analyze business needs and works with IT teams such as Development, Security and Systems Administration, to ensure that the solutions meet stakeholder expectations. Examples of these solutions may include enterprise content management, client-facing portals, and custom business process workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure Usage/Process Improvement/Maximization of Investment
- Primary source of knowledge and architect for all Microsoft ecosystem solutions. This includes working with all levels of business both verbally and in writing to determine business needs and how to address them by leveraging the solution tools
- Provide expertise and support to business managers and other members of IT to determine how to best implement, support, and use Microsoft solutions
- Determine when Microsoft is not the right solution for a business problem and communicate this effectively to business leaders
- Conduct research on emerging Microsoft tools and strategies
- Analyze and document business processes to help identify how Microsoft can meet those requirements
- Create functional requirements and design documents to ensure business requirements are accurately recorded
- Provide ad hoc training to business leaders and end users
- Develop scripts and participate in testing
- Look for opportunities to leverage technology to achieve business unit objectives
- Contribute short articles for the SharePoint intranet
Ensure Consistency
- Ensure consistency, security and usability by leading the Microsoft Governance team
- Establish and document solution and user standards
- Contribute to policy reviews and updates as appropriate
- Continually strive to improve the efficiency and usability of Microsoft solutions leveraging ongoing research and understanding of business needs.
- Partner with IT, Security, Legal, and business stakeholders to assess Microsoft licensing impacts, data residency, and retention requirements during acquisition due diligence and integration
- Maintain repeatable processes, training, and documentation to support users
Ensure Security
- Continually strive to improve the governance and security of Microsoft solutions leveraging ongoing research and understanding of security best practices.
- Research new and emerging security risks and solutions
- Recommend enhancements to secure our environment
- Collaborate with the Network and Security teammates to test and implement security recommendations to balance function with security
- Ensure security standards and changes are documented and communicated
- Complete regular audits to ensure standards are being met
Other Responsibilities
- You may be expected to perform other duties as assigned
- Keep current with changes and additions by Microsoft that may impact operations
- Upholds legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements unique to the role, in addition to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, and Information Security policies and procedures.Â
- Completes annually required compliance related courses as established by Harborstone Credit Union policies and/or practices.
- Completes annually required Product and Process Knowledge competency testing, in addition to job related courses as established by Harborstone Credit Union policies and/or practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelorâs degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related experience
Experience:
- 5+ years experience with Microsoft administration, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.
- Proven experience with enterprise file migrations tools (e.g., ShareGate)
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and governance
- Expertise around industry best practices in the various aspects of IT, technology trends and research of emerging technologies, enterprise operations knowledge, and the ability to develop solutions to implement key business strategies
- Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio
- Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) experience
- PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
Soft Skills:
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analyses, problem-solving, modeling, verification, and methodology development
- Strong technology research skillset with proven ability to architect and present technology alternatives based on scope-level business concepts
- Proven project planning, management, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication, and collaborative skills
- Ability to present ideas and solutions in a business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed, logical, and efficient with keen attention to detail
- Certifications/Additional Qualifications (if applicable):
- ITILv4 preferred
