Job DetailsJob Location: Old Hickory, TN 37138Position Type: First Call AmbulanceJob Category: Paramedic / CC ParamedicThe Night Shift Weekend Operations Supervisor completes all duties of Paramedic, in addition to the following expectations daily. Reports directly to Operations Manager and are held accountable for communication between operations supervisors, Leadership staff and multiple shifts.  Paramedic provides patient care in both the emergency and non-emergency environment. Ensures compliance with all State EMS rules and regulations. Upholds all company policies and procedures including company medical director approved protocols and standing orders. Employees hired into this position are subject to a six-month introductory probationary period.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Complete Daily Deployment Readiness Form  Leadership Report  Discrepancies completed  Loop closure reports and system management  IT Equipment Management  Check Crews Queues Daily on Web PCR  Daily Activities Report  Daily walk through to address needs of dispatch and maintenance  Check paperwork for errors at the end of crew shifts  Submit trouble tickets as needed  Filling Schedules/Trucks  Truck audits for ALS/BLS and enough trucks available  Handle crisis emails and respond to email  Returned paperwork issues  Timeliness accountability  Come in-service, daily  Respond to all calls for service dispatched from the EMS communications center as directed.  Provide care and treatment to patients according to company policy and the company medical director protocols.  Ensures ambulance and all equipment is cleaned and checked daily. Any deficiencies should be reported immediately to the Operations Manager.  Prepares and completes appropriate reports including Patient Care Reports (PCR), billing, exposure reports, incident reports, daily, weekly, and monthly unit check offs.  Ensures unit and crew members adhere to our EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, directives, and standards. Reports any deficiencies to Operations Manager.  Ensures vehicle placed in-service comply with required laws, rules license, and regulations as outlined by the State and other authorized agencies.  Prompt and regular attendance at work and mandatory meetings.  Maintain a state of readiness and professionalism while on duty.  Maintain professional appearance and conduct while in company uniform either on or off duty.  Self-motivated and requires little supervision and direction.  Staffing open ambulance shifts as needed to assure minimum deployment requirements.  Performs other such duties as may be required  Qualifications Minimum EMT-P (Paramedic) Qualifications  Basic Life Support Certification  Advanced Cardiac Life Support  PALS or equivalent certification (within 6 months of hire date)  Current State of Driver’s License  Positive Driving/Safety Record    CORE COMPETENCIES  Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services.  Knowledge of company medical director approved protocols and standing orders.  Ability to read and interpret local maps.  Demonstrated skills in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous, and rapidly emergent tasks.  Demonstrated ability to read and understand medical terminology.  Demonstrated ability to write reports, and correspondence.  Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding patient care, EMS operations and other customer service issues.  Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer systems including PCR reporting, email, and MDT applications.  Demonstrated ability to represent our EMS and other team members as an EMS professional.    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stand, or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 150 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.   WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL The Operations Supervisor functions in a dynamic, high-volume EMS environment that includes field response, station oversight, and administrative responsibilities. Work is performed in a combination of: • Ambulances and emergency response vehicles • Patient homes, healthcare facilities, accident scenes, and public settings • Operations offices, dispatch centers, and fleet/maintenance areas   This role routinely encounters high-stress, time-sensitive situations involving critically ill or injured patients. The employee may be exposed to: • Communicable diseases and biohazard materials • Bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials • Variable weather conditions • Loud noises, traffic hazards, and emergency scene risks The Operations Supervisor must maintain composure, sound judgment, and professional leadership presence in emergent and non-emergent situations. The position requires flexibility in schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as operational needs dictate. Travel RequirementsThis position requires regular local travel within the assigned service area to support multiple shifts, stations, and field operations. Travel expectations include: - Response to emergency and non-emergency calls as an active Paramedic - Travel between stations, deployment sites, and operational facilities - Attendance at meetings, trainings, and operational reviews - Occasional regional travel as directed by Operations or Executive Leadership A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record are required. The employee must be able to safely operate company vehicles, including ambulances, in compliance with all State and company regulations.
