JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:Ā 

The Quality Improvement SpecialistĀ leads quality improvement activities across Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) and leads initiatives to foster a culture of quality. This position is house within the Center for Strategy and Excellence and serves as an internal consultant to all public health work areas, working with staff at every level to understand processes, identify areas for improvement, and guide teams through meaningful changes to improve efficiency, cost, and quality. This role is also responsible for building the standards, systems, and staff capacity to foster and sustain a culture of quality through continuous improvement.Ā Ā Ā

SCHEDULE:Ā 

This full-time, standard position has the flexibility to work either Monday-Thursday, or Monday-Friday. This position is hybrid, with in-office work as needed.     

COMPENSATION:Ā Ā 

Hiring Range:Ā $70,000- $85,000 USD annuallyĀ 

Compensation will beĀ determinedĀ based on education,Ā experienceĀ and skills.Ā

  • Quality Improvement Project Leadership:Ā ApplyĀ consistent quality improvementĀ QI and human centered design methodsĀ to lead teams in quality improvement cycles that are impactful,Ā efficientĀ and repeatable.Ā Ā 

  • Implement standards and practices:Ā Develop and operationalize organizational quality improvement guidance, frameworks, and continuous improvementĀ priorities.Ā Ā 

  • Reporting and Evaluation:Ā Create the reporting and monitoring systemsĀ neededĀ toĀ evaluateĀ improvements. Synthesize and communicate results of quality improvement initiatives and offerĀ recommendations for continuous quality improvement.Ā 

  • Build Staff Capacity and Culture:Ā Champion quality improvement through department initiatives that bring visibility, excitement, and motivation toĀ quality improvement. Provide regular training, coaching and guidance to staff and leadershipĀ to promote the skills toĀ effectivelyĀ participateĀ in quality improvement activities.Ā 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Ā Partner with departmental leaders as a subject matter expert to support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and improvements, as assigned.Ā

Minimum Qualifications:Ā Ā 

Experience:Ā 3 years of professional experience in roles related to quality improvement, project management, change management, organizational development, or similar work.Ā 

Ā Ā 

Education:Ā Ā Bachelor's degree in a related field (public administration, public health, business, organizational psychology, or similar).Ā 

Ā 

*Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.Ā 

Ā 

Preferred knowledge,Ā skillsĀ and abilities:Ā 

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Black Belt)Ā Ā 

  • Project management experience; credentials such as PMP, CAPM, or PRINCE2 are a plusĀ 

  • Experience applying human centered design to improve services, processes, or programsĀ 

  • Certification in change management (Prosci, CMMP, or others)Ā 

  • Experience conducting cost–benefit, cost-effectiveness, or return-on-investment (ROI) analyses.Ā
