O'Neill Healthcare Lakewood is hiring a Staffing Coordinator to join our team! This is a full-time position and will be responsible for all Scheduling and Staffing for around 120 employees in a long-term care environment. Active Ohio STNA license is strongly preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as the primary contact and representative of the facility with prospective employees during the applicants’ interview and hiring process.
  • Exercise discretion & independent judgment related to nursing department staff as well as, in the screening/interviewing/hiring disciplined process of hiring an applicant.
  • Promote recruitment and retention of all nursing facility staff.
  • Must project a positive attitude and promote the facility & its staff/residents in a positive manner.
  • Screen applicants, interview and hire unit assistants, nursing assistants, state tested nursing assistants and other staff.
  • Guide new employees through the personnel file requirements.
  • Assist in the coordination of orientation programs.
  • Prepare schedules for unit assistants, nursing assistants, and nurses.
  • Determine daily staffing assignments for unit assistants and nursing assistants.
  • Review personnel files for continued compliance with state and facility requirements.
  • Determine, issue and follow through with employee evaluations at the appropriate intervals.
  • Contact employees when they are absent.
  • Maintain fingerprint log and submit cards to verifying agency.
  • Maintain staff Mantoux log.
  • Maintain nurse aide registry log.
  • Attend all mandatory nursing assistant meetings and conduct drug screening/fingerprinting on applicants.
  • Attend weekly Department Head meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Previous Staffing experience
  • Positive ability to work with the public, flexibility, and adaptability to a busy office environment.
  • Pleasant telephone skills.
  • Accurate typing skills of 40 wpm or better.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to uphold the policy.
