Job description:

Chemical Processor - Lakewood, Ohio
Up to $23.38 per hour
Plus $2.00/Hr Shift Premium and $1.50/Hr Department Premium
Opportunity on 3rd Shift; Sunday-Thursday 10:45pm-7:00am

Prior Chemical Processing experience is required.

Off-Shift New Hires are required to train on 1st shift for a minimum of 90 days.

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Chemical Processor for our Acid Treat Department to join our team. The primary function of these positions is to safely operate different types of equipment/machinery in order to process material and products to be shipped to customers.

Duties:

  • Preparation of raw graphite flake for processing through the operation of conveying equipment, separating equipment, and the like.
  • Operation of the acid treat system including all related transport, pumping, valving, metering, liquid separation, drying, and pollution control systems, in accordance with specified procedures.
  • Operation and routine cleanout and adjustment of Grafoil furnace and related pollution control systems including the proper regulation of temperature control, flake feed, and “worm” transport systems.
  • Responsible for covering open shift in instances of vacation.
  • Maintenance of all written records required in the execution of the job.
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all HS&EP regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Operate production equipment and machinery involved in material processing, including chemical operations.
  • Float between our processing departments as needed based on production.
  • Adhere to all quality standards.
  • Proactively make or suggest adjustments to equipment and/or processes in order to maintain the efficient and safe production of high quality material.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in area/Department.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance tasks as part of our preventive maintenance program.
  • Perform data entry work on a computer.
  • Maintain all written records required to execute jobs.
  • Reporting maintenance requirements for equipment used.
  • Other duties as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Previous experience operating production machinery/equipment preferred.
  • Previous experience in chemical processing a plus.
  • Previous experience operating a tow motor a plus.
  • Experience operating converting and automated equipment a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, operate a variety of hand tools and operate fork lift.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent lifting, standing, bending, twisting, stooping is required as part of this position.
  • Majority of work is performed in the manufacturing area.
