We are looking for a talented Product Functional Test Mechanical Tech - Level II to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Jamestown, NY.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Ensure test readiness and reliability by expertly preparing test articles, fixtures, rigs, and equipment so every test starts from a solid, controlled baseline.
  • Strengthen test accuracy by installing instrumentation correctly and consistently, following engineering standards that protect data quality and test validity.
  • Improve test execution by assisting with procedures, setups, and methodology, helping the team run tests smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
  • Protect data integrity by understanding how both the product and the test equipment function, allowing you to spot issues that could compromise results.
  • Reduce downtime through hands‑on troubleshooting, test stand installation, and proactive maintenance that keeps lab equipment in top working condition.
  • Enhance operational flow by preparing and tearing down test articles quickly and accurately, enabling faster test cycles and better use of lab resources.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying equipment, setup, or process issues and contributing insights that help refine testing practices.
  • Increase team capacity by taking ownership of routine and technical tasks, freeing engineers and technicians to focus on higher‑level analysis and development.
