Sauté Cook (Full-Time):

Lambertville Station Restaurant & Inn is currently seeking a Sauté Cook to join our culinary team. This is a full time position, and weekend availability is required. If you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality dishes, we would love to hear from you.

 

Job Summary:

The Sauté Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, portion controls, and presentation specifications. The ideal candidate will have prior sauté station experience, strong cooking skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Cook menu items on the sauté station according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Follow portion controls and quality specifications for all food preparations.
  • Execute food production and service for assigned kitchen stations.
  • Recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, seafood, dairy, and meat products.
  • Maintain assigned workstation in a clean, organized, safe, and sanitary condition.
  • Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Handle food in accordance with local health department regulations and food safety guidelines.
  • Utilize proper food handling techniques while minimizing waste and unnecessary expense.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
  • Follow safety regulations and report injuries, unsafe conditions, or unsafe work practices to management.
  • Attend training and educational sessions as assigned.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and job-related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous sauté cook experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be available to work full-time and weekends.

 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to use hands to handle, prepare, and cook food items.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and communicate effectively.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Restaurant kitchen environment.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
  • Fast-paced atmosphere with exposure to heat, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas.
