Main responsibilities:
When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guestÂ
Responsible for hiring, training and performance management of team membersÂ
Responsible for communication of information distribution to entire departmentÂ
Responsible for maintaining positive atmosphere, spirit and morale within the departmentÂ
Demonstrate effective leadership skills by managing time and delegationÂ
Develop team members and future leaders utilizing available materials and systemsÂ
Support and execute division concepts and programsÂ
Accountable for executing and meeting financial goalsÂ
Responsible for identifying areas of opportunity throughout the store and within the departmentÂ
Ensure quality and consistent product availability and solutions to our guestsÂ
Responsible for safeguarding, controlling and monitoring all department assets, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented for control of assetsÂ
Practice safe work habits; maintain a high level of store cleanliness, organization, and a safe work environment; encourage team members to do the sameÂ
Oversee that department systems and processes are utilized consistently and correctlyÂ
Direct meetings with the department leadership team to effectively plan production and promotion goalsÂ
Verify team member schedules against business needsÂ
Coach and discipline team members as necessary in accordance with policy and procedures with support from Talent ManagementÂ
Verify all books and manuals are kept updatedÂ
Oversee inventory process and reportingÂ
Oversee that Food Safety Procedures are adhered toÂ
Approve all purchase orders and maintain adequate levelsÂ
Responsible for training and testing checkers in accurate produce recognition to ensure guest satisfaction and correct register chargesÂ
Demonstrate good conflict management skillsÂ
Perform other duties assigned by upper managementÂ

Key Requirements:Â
Must be 18 years of age or olderÂ
High School Diploma or equivalentÂ
Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Produce Assistant ManagerÂ
The Department Manager is required to work the scheduled work shift or as needed to meet the needs of the store guests and team members  Â
Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional mannerÂ
Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and work with minimal supervisionÂ
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs.Â
Ability to work within a fridge and/or freezer for long periods of timeÂ
Be able to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking  Â
Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email).Â
Ability to work at fast-paced, but efficient and controlled mannerÂ
Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certificationÂ
Bilingual English/Spanish a plusÂ
Ability to receive phone calls at homeÂ
Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidaysÂ
Must attend meetings, including out-of-town, requiring overnight staysÂ
Must be able to transfer to another store within the areaÂ
Ability to function as a team member and get along with othersÂ
