What You’ll Do
As a Direct Support Professional II, you’ll support individuals with developmental disabilities in living safe, meaningful, and fulfilling lives. You’ll promote independence, protect health and safety, and serve as a trusted advocate.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and implement client daily routines (as outlined in IPP/ISP)
- Support residents' personal goals, activities, and social engagement
- Maintain a clean, safe, healthy environment
- Assist with personal care: grooming, hygiene, bathroom needs, dressing
- Prepare meals and help with cleanup
- Transport clients to/from home, activities, or appointments (as needed)
- Report incidents and communicate with administrators daily
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of professional or personal caregiving experience
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings (background check, physical, etc.)
Preferred (or willing to obtain):
- DSP Year 1 & Year 2 Certificates
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) within 6 months
- CPR/First Aid within 30 days
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health needs
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

- On-site (not remote)
- Mutiple locations in Bakersfield
