About the location:

Located on the southeastern coast of the pristine island of Lāna’i, lies the secluded retreat of Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i, an oceanfront destination offering travelers a curated, personalized island escape. The five-star, five-diamond Resort offers outdoor restaurants, including Nobu Lāna’i, a kid’s club, Tennis Garden, cultural programming, beach and pool with spacious seating areas nestled among tropical gardens, Hawanawana spa and luxury retail boutiques. Built on lava outcroppings, the award-winning Jack Nicklaus-signature golf course features ocean views on every hole. Island activities, many managed by Four Seasons include sunset sails and whale watch tours, horseback riding, sporting clays and archery, biking, hiking, and aerial adventures at Lanai Adventure Park or learn about Hawaiian wayfinding at the on-site observatory.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES AND CULTURE SUPERVISOR 

The Four Seasons Resorts Lāna’i is looking for an Outdoor Adventures and Culture Supervisor who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams’ have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

The Outdoor Adventures and Culture Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Culture and Outdoor Adventures Manager in all aspects of the operation to include overseeing the safe, informative, and enjoyable operation of cultural Jeep and UTV off-road tours, managing guides and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and serving as a central point of contact for guests and internal staff. Key responsibilities would include staff training and performance evaluation, conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining tour schedules, and managing logistics for tours and equipment Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:  

  • Staff Management: Train, mentor, and monitor tour guides and other staff to ensure adherence to safety protocols and high-quality customer service.  

  • Tour Logistics: Plan and manage tour itineraries, manage tour timing, and ensure smooth transitions between stops.  

  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, instruct guests on proper vehicle operation, and conduct safety checks on equipment and facilities.  

  • Equipment Management: Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, and maintain the condition of vehicles and other tour equipment.  

  • Guest Experience: Provide engaging and educational content about the local history, culture, and environment.  

  • Incident Response: Respond to emergencies, handle guest complaints or concerns, and report any accidents or injuries to management.

WHAT TO BRING 

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States 

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts. Able to work in a wide range of environmental and physical conditions 

  • Weekend and Holiday availability required  

  • Leadership and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills managing and motivating staff, along with excellent communication with guests and management.   

  • Cultural Knowledge: A solid knowledge of Hawaiian culture and local history is essential for providing educational tours.   

  • Vehicle Operation: Proficiency in operating UTVs and/or similar vehicles, including performing basic checks and minor repairs.   

  • Outdoor Experience: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, such as lifting equipment.   

  • Organization: Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple aspects of tour operations.   

  • Problem-Solving: The ability to assess situations and provide timely solutions for issues that may arise.
