Position: Experienced Concrete Foreman - Immediate Opening

Reports to: Operations Manager

Classification: Non-exempt

Date: June 2026


Thomann Asphalt is a family-owned full-service asphalt paving company. Thomann’s extensive experience has kept the paving contractor in business for almost 100 years. The Company’s primary focus is on commercial and industrial paving and site work projects in both the private and public sectors. We specialize in parking lot maintenance, including paving, patching, seal coating, crack sealing, and drain work, as well as site work, which encompasses a full complement of grading, excavating, and utility installation services. We are currently searching for an experienced Concrete Foreman to join the team!


Essential Functions

  • Provide direction and supervise the work of equipment operators and concrete laborers responsible for preparing, placing, finishing, and curing concrete
  • Consult blueprints and drawings to ensure the accuracy of each project
  • Effectively manage project material and resources while communicating with crew members, project management, and customers
  • Delegate tasks and provide guidance and leadership
  • Maintain hours worked by crew members as well as job costing data
  • Understand and execute concrete procedures to meet the project specifications.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities for approximately eight (8) crew members.


Work Environment

This job operates primarily in an outdoor work environment, in all weather conditions.


Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to push, pull, move, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs as needed.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Extended hours, nights, and weekend work may be necessary based on business needs. During the season, the typical workweek is approximately 50-60 hours.


Travel

This position may require travel and occasional out-of-town work.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in related field is a plus
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred
  • At least five (5) years experience as a Foreman
  • OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred but not required
