Job Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Department by managing the Accounts Payable function, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end closing. This role also assists with analyzing and interpreting financial and operational data.
Essential Functions
Accounts Payable Management: Code and process invoice, purchase order, expense report, and credit card transactions in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare and process payments to vendors via check or ACH on a weekly basis. Annual 1099 filing.
Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy.
Fixed Asset and Prepaid Expense management including depreciation and amortization
Journal Entries and Ledger: Recording financial transactions and maintaining general ledger accuracy
Month End and Year End Financial Close: Support month-end and year-end reporting and audit by maintaining monthly workpapers and reconciliations
Report and Account Analysis: Prepare and review financial and operational data, identifying and resolving questions or discrepancies as needed
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Knowledge of accounting software preferred. (Sage Intacct experience is a plus).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate knowledge of ExcelÂ
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Specifics
Full Time, 40hrs. a week
Generally, 8am - 5pm
Not a remote position
After 6 months - open to discussing (not a guarantee) working from home 1 day/week
