POSITION SUMMARY:

The Provider Practice Clinical Educator serves as a clinical and operational education leader supporting staff across North Country Healthcare’s primary care and specialty practices.

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that enhance clinical quality, patient experience, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance within ambulatory care settings.

The Clinical Educator supports staff development for roles including:

  • Medical Assistants
  • Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Registered Nurses
  • Front office teams
  • Triage Nurses
  • Clinical support staff

The educator collaborates with practice managers, clinical leaders, providers, and system leadership to ensure consistent workflows, evidence-based practice, regulatory readiness, and optimal patient care delivery across the physician enterprise.

Identify learning opportunities specifically to both maintain and enhance RN skills such as Ambulatory RN Programs.

Serve as a mentor to emerging clinical leaders within provider practices.

The Clinical Educator may provide on-site education across multiple practice locations and may occasionally participate in clinical operations to maintain practice expertise.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), Master’s Degree in Nursing Preferred.  

Certification:

  • Certified Rural Health Clinics Professional (CRHCP) preferred
  • Certification as Nurse Educator (CNE) or specialty certification (e.g., Certified Ambulatory Care Nurse) preferred

Licensure:

  • Current RN license (State of New Hampshire) 
  • Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.

Skills:

  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams
  • Ability to evaluate clinical competencies
  • Ability to facilitate both classroom and hand-on training
  • Proficiency in learning management systems and educational technology
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate electronic medical records
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule based on educational and clinical needs, including shift work

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in ambulatory, primary care, or specialty practice
  • Experience in training, precepting, or staff development
  • Familiarity with quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Education & Professional Development

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation, continuing education, and competency programs provider practices.
  • Evaluate educational needs through observation, performance data, and collaboration with leaders and staff.

 

  • Create evidence-based learning materials, simulation experiences, and skill validations to improve clinical performance, standardize care processes, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through metrics such as staff competency completion, quality indicators, and patient outcomes.
  • Support system-wide initiatives to promote quality, patient safety, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate education and competency documentation in compliance with CMS and other regulatory requirements.

Clinical Practice

  • Maintain clinical expertise through regular participation in patient care within the various practices within NCH.
  • Serve as a role model in demonstrating safe, effective, and compassionate care.
  • Collaborate with managers and interdisciplinary teams to identify learning opportunities and improve clinical outcomes.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with clinical leadership to align education with strategic goals, accreditation standards, and professional practice models.
  • Participate in shared governance, quality improvement, and system-wide education committees.
  • Facilitate new technology, equipment, and policy rollouts with appropriate training and evaluation.

Travel & Multi-Site Support

  • Provide on-site education and clinical support across all healthcare system facilities
  • Schedule and prioritize site visits to meet department and system needs.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
