Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech) / Cardiac Sonographer to join our Cardiopulmonary Services team. In this vital role, you will perform echocardiographic procedures that provide essential data to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiac conditions.

You will utilize advanced ultrasound technology to evaluate cardiac anatomy and function, including blood flow, valve function, and chamber size. Your expertise will help identify various types of heart disease and support timely clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform echocardiograms using M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler, and Color Flow Doppler imaging techniques.

  • Assess cardiac structure and function, identifying abnormalities related to anatomy and hemodynamics.

  • Collaborate with physicians and cardiologists to interpret findings and support diagnosis and care planning.

  • Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and equipment functionality.

  • Recognize cardiac disease states and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Accurately document findings and ensure all studies meet diagnostic criteria and department standards.

  • May be cross-trained to perform duties in EEG, EKG, Stress Testing, and Sleep Studies, as needed.

Additional Job Description

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular or Ultrasound program or possess equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in performing 2D and Doppler echocardiograms preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics is desired.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI is required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required before seeing patients.
