Job DetailsJob Location: Lancaster Campus - Lancaster, PA 17601Position Type: Full Time StaffJob Category: Facilities/Grounds Job Summary: The Grounds & Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance, safety, and functionality of Lancaster Bible College's grounds and outdoor spaces. This position performs groundskeeping duties including mowing, landscape maintenance, snow removal, and campus event support while also providing preventative maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and routine repairs of departmental vehicles and grounds equipment. The position participates in snow removal, emergency response, storm operations, and on-call responsibilities as required.   Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides day-to-day guidance and training to student employees and assists the Grounds Coordinator in prioritizing and completing departmental work assignments. Physical Requirements: Ability to safely operate commercial mowers, tractors, UTVs, skid loaders, snow removal equipment, and hand and power tools. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials, climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and perform repetitive physical tasks in varying weather conditions. Personal Qualities: The desire to grow, develop, and mature, both spiritually and professionally. The ability to create and maintain a Christian professional atmosphere in all internal and external relationships. A spirit of cooperation and willingness to serve others. A professional appearance. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Three to five years of experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, equipment operation, or a related field. Experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs of grounds equipment. Experience with small engine repair. Knowledge of hydraulic, fuel, electrical, and mechanical systems. Welding experience (MIG and/or Stick) preferred. Valid driver's license required. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and vendors. Duties/Responsibilities: Grounds Operations: Perform mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, planting, pruning, and general landscape maintenance. Maintain campus grounds to provide a safe, attractive, and welcoming environment. Operate grounds equipment including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, skid loaders, and related equipment. Assist with campus events, setup activities, and seasonal grounds projects. Maintain lawns, landscapes, planting beds, sidewalks, parking lots, athletic fields, and other campus outdoor areas. Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, servicing, and minor repairs on grounds equipment and departmental vehicles. Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to small engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and related equipment. Coordinate major repairs and service work with external vendors when required. Maintain service records, equipment inventories, vehicle registrations, and inspection documentation. Ensure proper handling, storage, and recycling of fuels, oils, antifreeze, and other maintenance materials. Winter Operations and Emergency Response: Operate snowplows, salt spreaders, and snow-removal equipment. Participate in storm response, snow removal, weather emergencies, and after-hours campus operations. Other: Supervise and train student employees as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.   On-Call Requirements: Participation in on-call responsibilities for snow events, storm response, emergency campus operations, and after-hours grounds or equipment-related emergencies.                                       Qualifications
