Job Description


Boyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a Machining Assistant in our Lancaster, PA location.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

The ideal candidate will deburr machined components produced in the CNC machining center and perform final visual inspections to ensure all parts meet quality standards before shipping to the customer. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality and precision of components used in aerospace and defense applications. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will have a direct impact on our operational success and customer satisfaction

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to read and understand detailed work instructions and basic math skills.
  • Work with Quality Control to ensure each part meets Boyd's Quality standard and pack them for shipping. 
  • Perform repetitive motion activities on a daily basis.
  • Lift parts that may weigh up to 70 lbs. with assistance.
  • Clean Parts using Crest Workstation.
  • Completes shop floor traveler documents.
  • Provide routine Maintenance on equipment.
  • Work in the Production area as workloads require.

No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles/80 kilometers) of the {Location} facility will be considered. 

Preferred: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with no prior related experience and/or training necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the company.
  • Basic Math skills are required including Addition, Subtraction, Division and Multiplication.
  • Ability to apply common sense and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to feel sharp edges on Parts.  The employee frequently is required to reach, stand and Lift parts and communicate with members of the Machining and QC departments.
