Position Summary

The Patient Resource Coordinator is a clinical and operational nursing leader responsible for coordinating patient flow, supporting daily operations, optimizing staffing, and ensuring safe, efficient, patient-centered care. This role partners with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve throughput, enhance quality outcomes, and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Essential Responsibilities

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinate patient throughput, admissions, transfers, and discharges to maximize patient flow.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support daily nursing operations and collaborate with department leadership.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor staffing levels based on patient acuity, census, and organizational staffing guidelines.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Conduct routine patient safety and quality rounds.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Serve as a clinical resource and provide direct patient care when needed.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Promote compliance with evidence-based practice, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with physicians, case management, bed management, and ancillary departments.

Leadership & Team Development

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with hiring, onboarding, orientation, and competency validation.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide real-time feedback and encourage professional development.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Promote teamwork, accountability, communication, and employee engagement.

Quality & Performance Improvement

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor quality indicators and patient satisfaction metrics.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Identify workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support safety initiatives, risk management, and regulatory readiness.

Financial & Operational Support

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist leadership with labor management, productivity, inventory, and cost-control initiatives.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support departmental budgeting goals through efficient resource utilization.

Qualifications

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum three years of acute care hospital experience.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Charge nurse or other progressive leadership experience preferred.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 BLS and ACLS required; additional specialty certifications may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and perform duties in a clinical environment.
