Elderwood at Lancaster is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager to lead a Long-Term Care or Subacute unit within our skilled nursing facility.

This is a true leadership role - ideal for an RN who is confident in long-term care, experienced in leading CNA teams, and ready to take ownership of clinical quality, staff development, and day-to-day operations on the unit.

  • Starting at $74,100 annually, with earning potential up to $104,000 based on experience

  • Experienced RN leaders can earn more based on background

Responsibilities

Unit Manager (RN) – Skilled Nursing - What You’ll Lead:

Unit Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Provide 24-hour oversight of your assigned nursing unit
  • Supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff — with a strong focus on CNA support and performance
  • Set clear expectations for care delivery, accountability, and teamwork

Clinical Oversight & Resident Care

  • Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans
  • Monitor clinical indicators and proactively address resident needs
  • Ensure high standards in documentation, infection control, and regulatory compliance

Family & Physician Communication

  • Serve as a key point of contact for families and providers
  • Communicate changes in condition and care plans clearly and professionally
  • Address concerns and support service recovery when needed

Operations & Staffing

  • Manage daily staffing, call-ins, and scheduling needs
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, and staff development
  • Conduct daily rounds to ensure quality and environment standards are met

Qualifications

Unit Manager (RN) - Skilled Nursing - What We’re Looking For:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - New York State
  • Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care setting
  • Prior leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Supervisor) required
  • Strong ability to lead, coach, and hold staff accountable
  • Experience working with CNA teams and developing newer staff
  • Confidence in handling family communication, clinical oversight, and regulatory expectations
  • Experience with dementia population strongly preferred
