Summary:

The School Based Outpatient Therapist (Mental Health Professional) is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to students (K-12) and their families. Provides individual treatment services including therapy, skills training, and education designed to enable children and adolescents to more confidently navigate complexities of MH. Opportunity to foster peer engagement and skill building through creating and running therapeutic groups in school settings. This position participates actively in all relevant team, supervision, and general staff meetings, to enhance the services of Community Services Group. It reports to the Program Coordinator or Director.

This position is part of our School Based MH Outpatient Therapy Services. These services are offered through a partnership between Community Services Group (CSG) and local school districts. In this program, licensed clinicians provide outpatient therapy to students onsite, within their school buildings, during their school day.

We currently have opportunities available in the Cocalico and Hempfield School Districts in Lancaster County. Hiring for the start of the 2026-2027 school year (start date mid-August 2026).

Full-Time - 10 Month Positions. Monday to Friday - school hours. You have the option to have your summer off, or continue providing support within the School Based Program and/or other areas of Outpatient Services.

CSG is offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus to be paid at the successful completion of the 3-month evaluation period.

Wage Information:

Starting salary (for 10 months, negotiable based on licensure/experience): $41,667 year (LSW, LAPC); $45,834/year (LCSW, LPC)

Job Description:

  • Provides treatment services to families including therapy, skills training, and education designed to enable families to care for their mentally ill or emotionally disturbed children in the home.

  • Works closely with other mental health specialists, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, case managers, psychiatric nurses, school counselors, and behavioral health providers.

  • Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in accordance with standards applicable to mental health professionals.

  • Provide individual, family and/or group counseling services to children, adolescents, and families.      

  • Provides on-call services as scheduled by the Program Director.

  • Actively participates in clinical team and staff meetings.

  • Provides clinical counseling in community settings, when applicable. 

  • Collaborate with other professionals, but primarily works independently.

  • Knowledge of behavior health diagnosis and coding for children/adolescent, adults, and the elderly.

  • Ability to collaborate with the family and/or primary caregiver and/or other members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience:

Master’s or doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology or a related field, AND licensed as one of the following: Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
