The Technician Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment across the company’s offices, operations facilities, and designated work areas. This position supports daily business functions by ensuring facilities are well-maintained and compliant with safety and sanitation standards. The Custodian may also assist in maintaining areas that support field crews and utility operations.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain custodial equipment in good working condition.
  • Clean and maintain offices, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum, floors as needed.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and report maintenance issues.
  • Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, equipment, and surfaces.
  • Clean interior windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed.
  • Assist with basic facility support tasks such as moving furniture, setting up meeting rooms, and light maintenance tasks.
  • Follow established safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Report facility repairs, hazards, or security concerns to supervisor promptly.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:

  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and chemical handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff.

Education, Training, Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • 1 year experience in building or institutional custodial work or an equivalent combination experience.

Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.

Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and use custodial cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Work performed in office, and utility operational environments.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and standard custodial equipment.

Other information:

  • Must be able to travel to other GRDA locations in northeast Oklahoma to fill in for custodial services.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
