Member Services Receptionist | Useless Bay Golf and Country Club


Useless Bay Golf & Country Club is seeking a friendly, organized and professional Member Services Receptionist to serve as a welcoming first point of contact for our members, guests and team members.

This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, can confidently manage a busy front desk, and is comfortable balancing exceptional member service with administrative, reservation and basic accounting responsibilities. The position is Part-Time, with the possibility of becoming a Full-Time position in the future.

The Member Services Receptionist provides exceptional service to members and guests while supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the Club. This position answers incoming calls, greets members and visitors, assists with member questions and dining reservations, maintains an organized and professional reception area, and provides administrative support to Member Services and other Club departments. The ideal candidate will be personable, dependable and detail-oriented, with administrative experience and familiarity with billing/accounting software. The regular schedule for this position will be Wednesday through Sunday, primarily during daytime hours, with occasional evening hours as needed to support Club operations, events and other departments.

What Success Looks Like:
Your Impact

  • Provide a warm, professional welcome to members, guests and visitors.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and messages.
  • Assist members with general Club questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Manage dining reservations and inquiries in collaboration with the Club Host.
  • Maintain a professional, organized and welcoming reception and lobby area.
  • Maintain and restock member-facing materials, including menus, comment cards, sign-in sheets, forms and other Club information.
  • Support recreation and fitness operations by laundering, folding and maintaining an adequate supply of bath and hand towels, particularly during peak season.
  • Assist with member records and routine administrative updates.
  • Provide administrative support to Member Services and Club management.
  • Assist with member billing and account-related administrative tasks as trained.
  • Process sport court guest fees and other routine member charges.
  • Assist with preparing and organizing reports, correspondence and documents.
  • Support Club events and activities with administrative preparation as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality when working with member, employee and financial information.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with members, guests and fellow team members.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

  • Previous receptionist, administrative, customer-service or office experience is preferred.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, billing software and accounts receivable is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with customer or member account-management systems is a strong plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Competent with computers, Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and familiarity with graphic design programs is a plus.
  • Experience in a private club, hospitality, resort, hotel, restaurant or member-service environment is a plus.
