As we continue expanding our footprint across the Mid-Atlantic region, we're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Supervisor to protect our field teams and help deliver high-quality, complex civil projects safely. 

Job Summary 

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safety practices and programs on construction sites to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a key part in promoting a strong safety culture, conducting inspections and training, and supporting field operations to prevent incidents and injuries. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Monitor daily construction activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards. 
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Lead accident and incident investigations; prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, including JHAs, PPE compliance, fall protection, and equipment safety. 
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety orientations, and ongoing training sessions for employees and subcontractors. 
  • Maintain documentation including safety logs, inspection reports, training records, and incident reports. 
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure jobsite safety. 
  • Enforce company safety policies and take corrective actions when violations occur. 
  • Participate in safety meetings and report findings to management. 
  • Stay current with changes in OSHA regulations and construction industry safety practices. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction safety. 
  • OSHA 510-Hour Construction Certification required. 
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment and handle multiple priorities. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and incident tracking software. 
  • Must be available to work weekends and extended hours as needed based on project demands. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to walk, stand, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders/stairs as needed. 
  • Able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, etc.).
