Summary
As a Fire Prevention Operator I, you will assist the performance and activities of the site’s Emergency Response Plan. You will provide technical support related to the design, installation, inspection, testing and maintenance of fire protection systems and other Emergency Management System (Spill, Confined Space Entry) throughout the site.Â

Responsibilities:
- Assist within the sites Emergency Response Plan and act as a liaison between the contracted staff and LGESMI
- Assist with the development of site emergency response plans and procedures
- Ensure that site fire protection systems are inspected, tested, and maintained in accordance with NFPA 25, Maintain and inspect firefighting equipment
- Ensure that site’s Emergency Response Systems are inspected, tested and maintained in accordance with LGESMI Standards.
- Support and deliver annual site-wide fire extinguisher training and building Emergency Drills for your shift.
- Monitor fire and gas detection, alarm, and suppression systems.
- Monitor CCTV systems to detect process defects, fires, leaks, spills, dangerous conduct, and security concerns
- Support emergency requests for assistance and dispatch the appropriate emergency resources
- Provide assistance with medical evaluations, First Responder services, and injury reporting services to LGESMI employees and visitors as requested
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Follow LGESMI existing cleaning SOP’s during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which
- Complete Fire brigade training program during the next scheduled class rotation. The items listed below are fire brigade related responsibilities.
- Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazmat incidents, and rescue operations on LG campus property.
- Operate fire suppression equipment, SCBAs, medical bags, AEDs, and industrial firefighting tools.
- Conduct fire safety inspections and fire watch walkthroughs throughout campus facilities.
- Support battery-related fire response protocols, including hot cell isolation and lithium-ion mitigation.
- Maintain, inspect, and inventory firefighting equipment and response vehicles daily.
- Administer first aid until advanced care arrives.
- Support and participate in monthly fire brigade training drills and continuing education.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including incident reports, inspection logs, and equipment checklists.
- Assist with emergency evacuation coordination and post-incident debriefs.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
- First Responder certified and CPR/BLS/AED certified, can be done within the Fire Brigade once hired
- Pass Firefighter agility test and physical
Â
Experience:Â
- 0-3+ years of experience in fire watch or security monitoring, with demonstrated proficiency in CCTV, fire/gas detection, alarm, and suppression systems surveillance.
- Knowledge of NFPA and IFC standards and building/fire code requirements.
- Willingness to cross-train in other functions within the EH&S team.
