Summary:

This position will perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks on equipment to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions, as well as troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and interruptions. This position will also provide hands-on training for new and experienced employees. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot causes of mechanical and electrical errors
  • Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment
  • Maintain process and procedure standards to provide consistency across employees and shifts
  • Provide initial and continuous hands-on training in equipment functions, features, and repairs for new employees
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed
  • Work with engineers, shift leads, and supervisors to create more efficient processes when necessary
  • Demonstrate leadership skills through continuous support of team members and new hires and by leading meetings when operating procedure training is involved
  • Lead tours for new employees and visiting vendors
  • Draft blueprints and read schematic, mechanical, and electrical diagrams
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Read and fulfill work orders
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Follow LGESMI existing cleaning SOP’s during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which includes cleaning your designated machine and/or surrounding work area      
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Common mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of process standards

  • 1 to 3+ years of previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience with advanced education or training
