Summary:

In this role, you will lead planning, execution, and delivery of brownfield retrofit construction projects within active manufacturing facilities and coordinate installations of utilities, electrical systems, infrastructure upgrades, and facility modifications required to support new or modified production equipment. Ensuring retrofit work is executed safely, on scheduled, within budget, and fully integrated with engineering, operations, and commissioning requirements. 


Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of retrofit construction scope across multiple projects or sites, ensuring successful delivery of electrical systems, CDA, process utilities, fire protection, and facility infrastructure.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage brownfield construction activities in operating facilities while minimizing disruption to production.
  • Ensure constructability and field readiness of retrofit design packages prior to installation.
  • Direct and oversee contractors, installers, and construction vendors, including reviewing scopes of work, bid packages, and contractor proposals.
  • Monitor field productivity, work quality, and adherence to project schedules while resolving conflicts, constraints, and unforeseen site conditions.
  • Coordinate closely with electrical, facilities, and process engineering teams to ensure alignment between design intent and field execution.
  • Support utilities tie-ins, infrastructure connections, commissioning, energization, and startup activities.
  • Develop and manage retrofit construction schedules and phasing plans, including coordination of outages, tie-ins, and shutdown windows with operations.
  • Track project progress, costs, risks, and change orders while providing status updates and reporting to project and site leadership.
  • Enforce site safety requirements, construction standards, and compliance with applicable electrical codes, building codes, and facility regulations.
  • Support permitting processes, inspections, and authority approvals to ensure project compliance.
  • Provide leadership to construction supervisors, field coordinators, and external partners while promoting best practices for brownfield construction and continuous improvement in retrofit project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred or equivalent, relevant experience


Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in utility facilities management, industrial construction, project management or retrofit experience
  • Experience managing electrical, MEP, and utility installations within manufacturing or process facility environments.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, energization, and startup activities.
  • Experience working in battery, semiconductor, automotive, or other advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Experience leading multiple projects, programs, or complex construction initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience working in brownfield or live-plant construction environments.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors, vendors, and construction teams in an industrial setting.
